Water pollution due to industrial coloring dyes is now an acute problem worldwide, and in developing countries in particular. It is estimated 780 million people still lack the easy access to clean potable water. 1 According to a recent report, it is estimated that around 37.7 million people are affected by water-borne diseases annually, 1.5 million children are estimated to die of diarrhea alone, and 73 million working days are lost due to water-borne diseases each year (UNICEF and FAO Joint report). With the second largest population in the world, India has been classified as “water stressed” country as the growing population is putting strain on the country’s water resources.
We develop novel electrospun nanofiber based adsorbent for successful removal of dyes from industrial waste-water. We also research on nanofiber based membrane for water purification
